Raa Middle

The Augusta Raa Middle School Arts Magnet Program allows students the ability to receive robust academic offerings that include high school credit courses and CTE / Digital Tools certifications and develop creative and critical thinking skills, all while benefiting from a variety of Arts programs, several of which are unique to Raa and not found at other Leon County middle schools. 

Through this rigorous academic curriculum for the Arts, with exhibitions and performances at all levels, Raa provides enhanced learning opportunities to better prepare students for high school and beyond. Students are able to explore Arts courses that include visual arts, theatre, dance, chorus, orchestra, band, guitar, steel drums, shop/carpentry, and much more! In addition, Raa offers a variety of athletic and extracurricular opportunities that make for a well-rounded middle school experience. 

When it comes to a caring environment, Raa's administration and teachers put the student experience first, and endeavor to find ways for each student to feel connected and supported in their academic goals and personal pursuits, and to make learning fun! The team at Raa knows that middle school is a pivotal time in a student's development and that it's important for every student to try new things, be creative, and learn how to build and nurture positive relationships while fostering self-motivation, time management, and healthy behaviors.
